Movement - Essential for Performance, Longevity & Well-Being

If you've been reading our newsletters over the last year, you already know that Physical Focus is taking a comprehensive approach to not only your fitness, but your Overall Performance, Longevity and Well-Being. We don't believe in waiting until injury, illness or discomfort forces us to seek care. Instead we take a proactive approach, based on leading-edge science and evidence. And we start with improving Physical Health because it is the foundation for all the other components - Mental, Social, Emotional & Spiritual.

We believe that exercise, when strategic, consistent, challenging and progressive, is the most powerful stimulator of energy production available to the body. And when we have energy, not only do we naturally feel better, but we are capable of reaching our goals, fulfilling all our responsibilities and roles, aligning ourselves with our values, and focusing on what is most important to us.

To achieve optimal health, while maximizing our results and minimizing our risks of injury, we need to move our bodies properly, and recognize our limitations and restrictions. And we can't always do that alone - we need a trained eye to provide feedback, direction, correction and goals.

To help you do just that, we've created a Biomechanical Movement Assessment (BMA) with our Doctor of Physical Therapy Dr. Steve Politis DPT, FAFS, FAAOMPT, 3D MAPS

Biomechanical Movement Assessments

Our Biomechanical Movement Assessments (BMA) utilize 3D MAPS, Movement Analysis Performance System. This injury-prevention screening, and movement analysis examines the entire body and its abilities for Mobility and Stability in all 3 planes of movement. This 30 minute BMA evaluates all body complexes: foot/ankle, knee, hip/pelvis, lumbar, thoracic, cervical spines, and shoulder girdles for their ability to move through 3 dimensional space.

This assessment is appropriate for not just performance athletes, but is equally important for the general population, all ages and abilities, as it evaluates the quality, control, and fluidity of movement relative to our ability to function throughout life's activities and all sports. Identify asymmetries, imbalances, weaknesses, and motor control deficits that contribute to injuries in the past, current injuries, and potential future injuries. Through proper assessment and prescriptive exercise programming, injuries can be prevented, healed, and rehabilitated to maximize performance and so you can live with more Vitality. Our BMA may also identify areas that would benefit from more in-depth evaluation by a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
